Philodendron ‘Florida Ghost’ is a highly sought-after and visually stunning climbing philodendron known for its uniquely shaped, lobed leaves and its dramatic color-changing foliage. New leaves emerge a striking pale mint to creamy white—sometimes nearly pure white—before slowly hardening off to light green and eventually deeper green as they mature, giving the plant its famous “ghostly” appearance.

Each new leaf is a surprise, and under brighter light the plant will continue producing lighter, more ghostly new growth. As it matures, Florida Ghost develops larger, more deeply lobed leaves and benefits from a moss pole or support to encourage bigger, more impressive foliage.

This is a vigorous and rewarding grower when given warmth, bright light, and a well-draining mix. It’s a true statement plant for collectors and looks stunning even at smaller sizes thanks to its ever-changing leaf color.

Light: Bright, indirect light. Higher light encourages lighter, more “ghostly” new growth. Avoid harsh direct sun.

Water: Water when the top couple inches of soil begin to dry. Prefers a well-draining, airy aroid mix. Do not allow to sit in soggy soil.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to normal household conditions. Higher humidity supports larger, healthier leaves.

Temperature: 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.

Growth: Moderate to fast-growing climbing philodendron with lobed leaves. New growth emerges very pale and darkens over time; benefits from a support pole for larger leaf development.
