Description & Care
Hoya obovata Variegata is a highly prized cultivar known for its thick, round leaves streaked with bold cream and light-green variegation. Each leaf patterns differently, giving the plant a one-of-a-kind appearance with every new growth. Under brighter light, this variety can also develop beautiful pink-to-warm sunstress tones, which highlight the variegation even more and create a soft, rosy glow across the foliage.
Once mature, obovata Variegata is a dependable bloomer—producing classic Hoya cluster flowers on persistent peduncles that rebloom year after year when left intact.
Light: Bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation and encourage gentle pink sunstress. Avoid harsh direct sun on tender leaves.
Water: Allow soil to dry between waterings. Prefers a chunky, well-draining mix.
Humidity: Thrives at 50–70% humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions.
Temperature: 65–85°F. Keep away from cold drafts.
Growth: Moderate grower with thick, round variegated leaves.
Flowers: Produces repeat bloom clusters on long-lived peduncles; do not remove peduncles after flowering.
Care Level: Easy to moderate.
