Alocasia ‘Regal Shield’ Aurea Variegated is a striking and highly ornamental elephant ear variety known for its large, velvety, shield-shaped leaves marked with dramatic splashes and marbling of golden yellow variegation. Each leaf is uniquely patterned, making every plant a one-of-a-kind statement piece and a true collector’s plant.

The contrast between the deep, dark green foliage and the bright aurea (yellow) variegation creates an especially bold and luxurious look. As the plant matures, the leaves can grow impressively large, giving it a strong architectural presence in any space. The undersides of the leaves often show rich, dark tones that add even more visual depth.

Like other Alocasias, ‘Regal Shield’ Aurea Variegated appreciates warmth, humidity, and consistent care. While not the fastest grower, it rewards patience with stunning foliage and dramatic form. Because of the variegation, brighter indirect light is especially important to maintain strong color and healthy growth.

Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, but provide plenty of light to support and maintain variegation.

Water: Keep soil lightly and evenly moist, but not soggy. Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Use a well-draining, airy mix.

Humidity: Prefers higher humidity (60%+), but can adapt to good indoor conditions. Higher humidity encourages larger, healthier leaves.

Temperature: 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.

Growth: Upright, clumping growth with large, shield-shaped leaves. Moderate grower under good conditions; each leaf displays unique aurea variegation.
